This post I have found on Cospicua Heritage Society. History are just records but reading it I could imagine more this event. An organised Charity Match between the Navy and St. George’s players – I can imagine my Grandpa organising the event with the Admiral. He was the chief messenger of the Admiral so they knew each other well. I can see the extent as this game was play on Grandpa’s 36th birthday – 6th January 1917, oh my dad was 3 years old!!! Also, the admiral was present and went down to greet the footballers!
